Description:

After a fifth edition at summer time in June 2022 due to Covid-related postponements, The Beat is back in its winter box, Saturday January 28, 2023 at the Geneva Arena. The evening is already shaping up to be memorable with the performances of the goldsmith of rap Josman, the spearhead of the drill made in France Gazo, of the new muse of the media Tiakola and her magic flow, of the duo to maddening stats Djadja & Dinaz, Kerchak and his sharp lyrics and Bu$hi, symbol of the new generation. Does the lineup of the n°1 hip hop festival in French-speaking Switzerland make your head spin? So see you on Saturday January 28 at the Geneva Arena. Ready for the show?

TIAKOLA

The kid from La Courneuve is far from being limited to a hitmaker, just good at putting swaying refrains on other people's singles, even if he excels in this exercise to the point of having multiplied prestigious featurings (Niska, MHD, Gazo…). Above all, Tiakola gives the impression of being dedicated to something greater. The one we nicknamed “La Mélo” released “MELO” last May, a first album supposed to allow him to meet his vocation and become an artist in his own right, determined to create a coherent, neat and ambitious work to make essential its magic flow.

JOSMAN

Rough diamond, key figure of the French rap scene, solitary UFO… There are many qualifiers to describe Josman. But the rapper is above all an artist as there are few. He works his projects to the extreme by involving himself in every aspect of the creative process, like a true goldsmith. Josman is a meticulous artist who leaves nothing to chance and who has managed to turn his rarity into a real strength. Since the release of his first album “JO$” in 2018, Josman has been chaining certifications and sold-out tours. A flawless journey that the rapper confirmed with the release of his third album “MAN” in March 2022, undoubtedly the most successful project of his career, whether in the variation of flows, the quality of the texts and the richness topics covered. Number #1 of the top album when it was released, “MAN” was certified gold in just 3 months.

GAZO

Gazo is not riding the drill wave: he is the origin of the tsunami that is turning French rap upside down. Attracting attention with his series of freestyles, it is at the beginning of 2021 that he transforms the test with his mixtape “Drill FR”. With a heavy and dark sound, a deep, scratchy and threatening voice and collaborations with heavyweights like Jul, Kaaris, Koba LaD, Hamza or Gims, Gazo proves that he is the standard bearer of this rap genre that devastated everything in its passage through France in 2020. It never changed to meet with success, but waited for trends to evolve for it to come to it. Let it be said, the throne is not vacant: Gazo has put his grillz there.

DJADJA & DINAZ

Djadja & Dinaz is: more than a million albums sold around the world, more than a billion plays on streaming platforms and unlimited hits. The most prominent duo on the urban scene have just added “SPLEEN” to their collection of double platinum records, like three of their previous albums. After a full concert at the Zénith de Paris in just three hours, it is on the stage of the Beat Festival that Djadja & Dinaz will perform for a unique show of which only they have the secret.

KERCHAK

Particularly attentive to the new French generation and the New York scene, the young rapper Kerchak in turn brings new life to the current French music scene. The rapper from Bois-Colombes of Ivorian origin surrounds himself with his family and friends to work on his art, a way of keeping his feet on the ground for an artist who narrates the world around him through heady gimmicks and atypical in an egotrip atmosphere.

BU$HI

Bu$hi is an artist from Lyon, originally from Réunion. Member of the Lyonzon collective, his style oscillates between trap and 2-step, passing through sounds close to melodic ballads. His artistic identity? A well-defined and sharp aesthetic in terms of style and references, all with a marked proximity to the field of fashion, collaborating with certain streetwear brands.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday January 28 at the Geneva Arena to experience the sixth edition of the Beat Festival.
