SWISS MADE SOUNDS
ARTHUR HENRY – SAMPLING THE WORLD FT. GIULIA DABALÀ
Double Swiss loopstation champion and beatbox star, as well as sampling ace and electronic musician, Arthur Henry is a polymorphous French-speaking artist in constant turmoil. And the least we can say is that he has genius! Under the banner of his new project, “Sampling The World”, the Chaux-de-Fondier musician travels the world in search of sounds to capture, which constitute a unique sound pool with which he therefore composes music specific to each city that 'he visits. Bicycle transformed into instruments, animal noises or even recordings of his own fans, everything is good to exploit, underlining the importance of human participation in the creations of the multi-instrumentalist prodigy.
The project, first conceived in video form, is also exported to the stage where the concerts with an immersive visual dimension of this “human sound machine” highlight a philosophy centered on unity within sound diversity, to provide a musical experience that is both captivating and meaningful.
For once, Arthur Henry invites the talented Neuchâtel singer Giulia Dabala, both winners of the Chaux-De-Fonds Contemporary Music Prize, for a unique concert on the PTR stage as part of the evening “ Swiss Made Sounds. Run!
SENSU
“Best EP” in 2022 according to Mixmag, “Best Artist of the Month” at the Montreux Jazz Festival and “Best Talent” at the Swiss Music Awards, Sensu is clearly one of the flagships of the current Swiss electronic scene, which we look forward to welcome to the PTR stage for a live show with strong and confident UK influences. The style of Sensu, a highly creative artist from Baden, draws its DNA from the fusion of experimental sounds, UK Garage, Soul and Hip-hop. Constantly evolving, the producer now enriches her touch with post-D&B and Electro elements, while paying particular attention to vocal textures and harmonies: oscillating between Fred Again, Disclosure and Moderat, she knows how to transcend genres to offer her public a journey with an eminently personal aesthetic. After an acclaimed tour in 2023 and releases that earned her numerous superlatives and support from the international scene, she explores an escape from daily pressures in her latest EP “AM__PM”: a jubilant foray into the artist's private life which confirms the talent she has shown as an artist since 2017.
Highly recommended live this Friday at Electron for lovers of warm and sophisticated sounds!
ARTHUR HNATEK
Virtuoso drummer, composer and electronic musician, Arthur Hnatek, one of the winners of the 2022 Swiss Music Prize, demonstrates an impressive career at the age of 32. A young prodigy known and recognized in the jazz world, notably for having worked with Tigran Hamasyan and Erik Truffaz, he is one of the most talented Swiss musicians of his generation, exploring electronic cultures with just as much talent. There he deepened his taste for improvisation at the frontiers of functional club music using his drums and modular synths, making no secret of his admiration for Aphex Twin or Squarepusher. Even more, it is the emphasis on the percussive dimension of his work in the union of “live electronics” and “live drumming”, linked without any break in continuity with the electro-acoustic rhythmic cultures of the 1990s, which appears very clearly. His productions, played by numerous DJs, have earned him praise from SRF3 here, and from BBC 6 elsewhere. We can therefore only advise you to immerse yourself in the fabulous universe of this extraordinary artist at the closing of the “Swiss Made Sounds” evening on the PTR stage!
ANGER
A true musical revelation, La Colère has been making Swiss stages buzz since the release of his first EP, “Surface”, in 2018, which immediately earned him an award at the Zurich M4Music festival. It won't take more to propel her on the path to success. After a notable tour of European festivals, the multi-talented artist released “La Vague” in 2020, a first album compiling retro-futuristic hits such as the unmissable “La Plage”, or even “Eau salée”. Author, composer and performer, she shares an uninhibited Electro-Pop, with sounds reminiscent of artists such as Röyksopp, The Knife or L'Impératrice: layers of synthesizers diluted with groovy bass lines, a voice swinging between singing and prose, guitars reminiscent of a distant coastline... This mixture of singular sounds which, combined, create a sound of new nostalgia, is his recipe with a well-kept secret.
While waiting for the release of a second album, which we hope to come soon, we will have the pleasure of welcoming the Genevan with the crooner's voice on the stage of the PTR de L'Usine as part of the “Swiss Made Sounds” evening. » where she will be accompanied by a guitarist for an undoubtedly hypnotizing live performance.
