THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN
The Jesus and Mary Chain are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in East Kilbride in 1983. The band is primarily known for its songwriting partnership between brothers Jim and William Reid. Their music is characterized by loud guitars, dark melodies and introspective lyrics.

Since their formation, The Jesus and Mary Chain have enjoyed considerable success. Their first album, “Psychocandy” released in 1985, was critically acclaimed and is considered a classic of the genre. They went on to release several more successful albums, including “Darklands,” “Automatic,” and “Honey’s Dead.”

In 2024, the group will celebrate its 40th anniversary, marking an important milestone in their musical career. During these four decades, The Jesus and Mary Chain influenced many artists and left a lasting mark on the alternative music scene such as My Bloody Valentine, The Raveonettes, The Black Ryder, The Horrors, The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Their musical legacy continues to resonate with fans around the world.
