Description:A Place To Bury Strangers
Fans all over the world know it: Oliver Ackermann always brings surprises. The lead singer and guitarist of New York band A Place To Bury Strangers has been delighting and astonishing audiences for nearly twenty years, combining post-punk, noise-rock, shoegaze, psychedelia and avant-garde music in surprising and unexpected ways . As the founder of Death By Audio, creator of signal-blurring pedals and visionary instrument effects, he's exported that excitement and invention to other artists who plug into his gear and blow minds. In concert, A Place To Bury Strangers is nothing short of stunning – a shamanic experience that bathes listeners in glorious sound, mad left turns, transcendent vibes, real-time experiences, brilliant breakthroughs.
lunacy
LUNACY, a dystopian shadow figure set in rural Pennsylvania – which, is a character set in the corroded and empty future that focuses on themes of loneliness, emptiness and mental illness. A character that often fits the description of post-apocalyptic films of the late 80s and early 90s. The project surfaced in 2016 releasing a set of 4-track demos and regularly releasing material every 6 months until the release of debut album “Age Of Truth” on Third Coming Records in Winter 2019. All releases have always been based around the art and design of a specific release and have always been released in limited colorings, always selling out fast. The project often described as lo-fi, noise and ambient explores different elements of shoegaze, minimal synth & post punk while developing a unique and identifiable sound to the project. “Echo In The Memory” marks a new chapter for LUNACY in a process of sound annihilation centered on the attempt to reconstruct a world that no longer exists. Recorded over a two year period, from 2019 to 2021, mixed by Connor Clasen and mastered by Oliver Ackermann.
