To open this special week in tribute to the association's half-century, the AMR invites the legendary saxophonist and composer Charles Lloyd.

Charles Lloyd has long been a free spirit, master musician and visionary. For over six decades he has dominated the music world, and at 84 years old, he is still at the top of his game and as prolific as ever. As a seeker of sound, Lloyd's endless creativity has perhaps found no better manifestation than in his latest masterpiece, Trio of Trios, a massive project that encompasses three albums, each being a clever change of musical context that features Lloyd in a different trio configuration.
The 2nd album in the Trios series: Ocean, was recorded at the 150-year-old Lobero Theater in Lloyd's hometown of Santa Barbara, California.
Charles Lloyd is accompanied for this concert at the Alhambra by the magnificent Gerald Clayton and Marvin Sewell.
