Free activities

WATCHMAKING WORKSHOPS

Led by the Geneva Watchmaking School, these introductory watchmaking workshops allow you to assemble watch components and immerse yourself in the heart of a watch mechanism.
Tuesday to Sunday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. (60 min). All audiences from 10 years old.

GUIDED TOURS

– Guided tours of the exhibition.
Tuesday to Friday at 12 p.m. / Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. (50 min). All audiences from 15 years old. Online registration: https://inscription.gphg.org/inscription-evenements

– Visit to the exhibition led by Estelle Fallet, chief curator at the Museum of Art and History (MAH). Event reserved for SAMAH members.

YOUNG AUDIENCE WORKSHOPS “Redress your clock”

Organized in partnership with the Fondation de Haute Horlogerie (FHH) and the International Watchmaking Museum (MIH), these workshops allow young people to dismantle and reassemble a functional clock under the watchful eye and mastery of an MIH watchmaker.
Saturday November 11 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. (90 min). From 8 to 15 years old. 15 places available.

CONFERENCES

– Conference in French “How to start a watch collection?” » hosted by Pascal Ravessoud, Vice-President of the Fondation de Haute Horlogerie (FHH).
Saturday November 4 at 12 p.m. (45 min). All audiences from 15 years old.

– Conference lunch organized in partnership with the Society of Friends of the Museum of Art and History: “The Hand and the Tool”, by Estelle Fallet, chief curator at the MAH (watchmaking, enameling, jewelry and miniatures)
Friday November 10 at 12 p.m. (120 min). Paid event (lunch boxes – CHF 20 for SAMAH members/ CHF 35 for non-members). All audiences from 15 years old.

QUIZ GAME EVENING

Fun and exciting evening (game and cocktail) organized in partnership with the FHH (Fondation de Haute Horlogerie), hosted by Pascal Ravessoud, vice-president of the FHH and Suzanne Wong, editor-in-chief of World Tempus. Teams will compete around questions on watchmaking knowledge. Who will be the best ?

SCHOOL (free activities)

COMBINED EDUCATIONAL OFFER FOR SCHOOLS “Discovering watchmaking”

Three combined activities aimed at students aged 10 to 16 (8P and Orientation Cycle):

Introductory watchmaking workshop (45 min)
These workshops allow you to assemble watch components and immerse yourself in the heart of the mechanism of a watch.
Workshop on “gears” (45 min)
Around an educational case including a sophisticated kit of cogs, and accompanied by scientific mediators, young people discover the basic concepts (force, speed, lifting, transmission of energy or information, watchmaking).
Guided tour of the exhibition of 90 timepieces (45 minutes)
Led by a watchmaking expert, students will discover the excellence of contemporary watchmaking productions preselected by the GPHG Academy.
Tuesdays (October 31 and November 7), Thursdays (November 2 and 9) and Fridays (November 3 and 10) 45 minutes per workshop, or 180 minutes for the entire school trip (breaks included), 24 students maximum.
