Description:KEVIN MORBY
Singer-songwriter Kevin Morby has risen from the shadows to embark on a successful solo career, writing songs that combine Dylanesque lyrical mystique with rootsy production. Along with contemporaries like Angel Olsen and Kurt Vile, he represents a wave of sharp, indie songwriters from the 2010s whose audiences grew exponentially as they asserted themselves. Morby's evolution has been particularly rapid, his vision taking shape in a string of well-received albums, including 2017's City Music, 2019's concept journey Oh My God, and 2022's This Is a Photograph, a deeply thoughtful album in which the songwriter explores themes of aging, family and turbulent times.
MACIE STEWART
Macie Stewart, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Chicago. Her story is one of solace and strength in solitude, where lush arrangements seek a sense of self, both in and without partnership. Exploring loneliness, and the growth and beauty that comes with it, Macie's inner meditations reevaluate their own relationships in a singular voice that could ring true for anyone.
Sometimes it's hard to admit the truth, especially when it comes to admitting it to yourself. But by reflecting hard truths through a transient dream state, Macie Stewart's Mouth Full of Glass is cut with immediate relativity; self-discovery by having been there before, and yet capturing the sound of a whole new beginning.
