Description:See you on September 22 for a 4th edition on Human, at night.
After a first version focused on astronomy and celestial observation, a second on nocturnal biodiversity, a third edition focused on energy savings, with this 4th edition focusing on Humans, at night; the cycle around the 4 main reasons to switch off is complete.
Lighting influences our body and our uses: The night is beautiful in 2023! comes to question 2 major subjects: the health and safety of users at night.
In a sense, too much intrusive lighting around our homes disrupts our biological rhythm and can lead to sleep disorders. Conversely, switching off public lighting in the dead of night calls into question user safety: how can you see and be seen when you are a cyclist, pedestrian, person with reduced mobility or the visually impaired?
Note that with more than 83 municipalities out of 117 which switch off all year round, totally or partially in the middle of the night, French Geneva stands out from the national average with 2/3 of municipalities in daily switch-off compared to a French national average concerning 1/3 of the municipalities.
The adaptation of our uses fully justifies a 4th edition on Humans and their uses at night.
