BAOBAB ORCHESTRA
Orchestra Baobab is a Senegalese group formed in 1970 as the resident group of the Baobab Club in Dakar. The group is known for its unique fusion of Afro-Latin, pop and folk music, creating an innovative and catchy sound.

Over the decades, Orchestra Baobab has enjoyed numerous successes and gained international fame. Their iconic songs such as “Utrus horas”, “On voir ça”, “Autorail”, “Sutukum” and “Coumba” have become essential hits in West Africa.

In 2020, the band celebrated their 50th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in their exceptional musical career. This special occasion was celebrated with special concerts and commemorative events across the world, where fans had the opportunity to relive the highlights of their musical journey.

Orchestra Baobab continues to inspire current and future generations with their timeless music and on-stage energy. Their unique musical heritage and ability to transcend cultural boundaries make them one of West Africa's most iconic bands. Whether on stage or in recordings, Orchestra Baobab continues to captivate listeners with their distinctive sound and exceptional talent.

Sankoum Cissokho & Mbar Ndiaye
Who are they ? : Sankoum Cissokho – Virtuoso of the kora, heir to the great Soundioulou Cissokho, composer of all his pieces, he captivates the audience with his soft voice and the captivating sound of the kora. Mbar Ndiaye – Master percussionist, drum major renowned for his dexterity, he alone embodies an entire orchestra of percussionists with his in-depth knowledge of African rhythms. Together, Sankoum Cissokho and Mbar Ndiaye, heirs of Senegal's Morello traditions, weave Mandingo epics. Their music resonates with the collective memory of Africa, illuminating the scenes of their vibrant heritage while remaining true to the richness of their traditions.
