THE DEAD SOUTH
A rock band without a drummer, a bluegrass band without a violinist. For the members of Dead South, a four-piece band from Regina, Saskatchewan, it's how you play, not what you play. Their sound, built on a tense configuration of cello, mandolin, banjo and guitar, zips past the polished definitions of acoustic music to reach the rougher, grittier spaces of the bluegrass world.
In June 2020, The Dead South celebrated their second JUNO Award win for Traditional Roots Album of the Year (Sugar & Joy – Six Shooter Records).

Tejon Street Corner Thieves
Outlaw Alt-Folk band Tejon Street Corner Thieves hails from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, bringing new energy to the Bluegrass genre by blending darker subject matter and tones with deep lyricism and high-performance musicianship.

Tejon Street Corner Thieves released their latest project “Thick As Thieves” on May 20, 2022 as a 12-track LP. The album was recorded at Royal Recordings in Colorado Springs with producer Bill Douglas, and combines Americana, folk and bluegrass in an intoxicating mix with a unique twist of outlaw and trash-grass.

Over the past few years, Tejon has risen above local acclaim, becoming a national voice within the Bluegrass community, both for his unique sound and his charming antics. Following the COVID-19 shutdown, Tejon received extensive media coverage when the band hit the road (on a school bus), playing their music for fans from a safe distance. Their ingenuity attracted a flood of new fans, propelling their music to the mainstream.
