La Gravière and Le Pop Club offers you Thursday, June 30th a new live set with Dragon Rapide and Kacimi!
𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞, after a first album as a declaration of intent – ​​See the Big Picture, that’s the image – British Isles and North American continent – ​​continues to fuel the art of the (power) trio, sticky and oily bass, drums and mixed percussion forming a Haçiendesque wall from Glasgow to New York, and guitars. Guitars in front, behind, everywhere, perfect, which say R.E.M. and Teenage Fanclub, which say Gang of Four and Johnny Marr, which say that “modern life sucks” – maybe, and again, because here we don’t is not nostalgic, we are out of date, nuance. These guitars will always be wonderfully modern, wonderfully outdated, wonderfully not nostalgic when the bones of our grandchildren’s children have turned to dust for many myriad kalpas.
Before the release of a new album in 2022, 𝐊𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐦𝐢 will release a series of 45s and EPs in the coming months. Kacimi will have taken advantage of the pop decline of 2020-2021 to complete these demos, some of which started in 2018. Oscillating between synthetic and mellow pocket pop, Wizz-style garage and psychedelic tracks, these titles have the particularity of having been recorded in different places (Geneva, Lyon, Paris, the South West) and with many French and Swiss musicians. After having multiplied experiences in groups over the past twenty years through numerous records, formations and concerts (Le Roi Angus, The Rebels of Tijuana …), KACIMI released in 2015 his first solo album “Cookies & Motoriders” followed by “Gyrophare” in 2020. Two albums acclaimed by Swiss and international critics. Albums that plunged us into the heart of sixties pop in French that was cinematic, yé-yé and poetic at the same time.
