Description:Aitawa
Afro-Colombian Psychedelic / France
+Don Malastas
Aïtawa live is the raw energy of 4 musicians who are experts in Colombian music. The quartet offers a bridge between the traditional rhythms of the Pacific and Caribbean coasts of Colombia, marked by the history of the African diaspora. A rich and deep music, which will draw its roots in the heart of an ancestral heritage.
On a solid base of Afro-Colombian rhythms, mixed with the intoxicating sounds of psychedelic rock from the 70s/80s, Aïtawa offers a new way of thinking about a hybrid world, interconnected in time and space.
We find there the bass of the Fender Rhodes, the sounds of a vintage Italian organ, a saxophone and a Colombian gaita. Electric guitar and percussion also accompany the rhythm of the drums. This project is the result of a long process of listening and meeting around this cultural heritage of oral tradition.
Both modern and traditional sound experience, imbued with tastes, aromas and Colombian human warmth, Aïtawa invites us to dance and share.
