Description:Ajate or the afrobeat of the country of the samurai!
Nearly 13,000 kilometers separate Tokyo from Lagos but for Ajate, this impressive distance seems to have long since been overcome. In love with Fela Kuti, the group draws inspiration from Afrobeat and revives it with traditional Japanese festival music called “Ohayashi”.
After their album Abrada which opened the doors of the world to them, and Alo in 2020, the group continues to spread its trance and its energetic joy. The originality of Ajate's sound comes from their totally unique percussive quality achieved through their handcrafted bamboo instruments, equipped with pickups and effects pedals, bringing together groove and spirituality.
Concerts that do not resemble esoteric rituals, but rather joyful charivaris where the uninitiated dance without worrying about whether Lagos is a district of Tokyo – or vice versa.
A one-of-a-kind live band ready to cause euphoria on the TO stage. Do not miss !
