For several years Joel Ross, rising star of the New York jazz scene, has established himself as a virtuoso and visionary of his generation. The vibraphonist-composer, regularly placed at the top of the DownBeat Critics Poll, became in 2017 one of the youngest artists to obtain a residency at the prestigious Jazz Gallery. After two albums released on the legendary Blue Note label, he publishes his new work The Parable of the Poet in 2022, a composed suite reflecting his explicit and mysterious musicality. Ross' collaborative spirit is embodied in the exploration of new territory with his all-star octet Parables, which notably includes Geneva's Maria Grand on tenor saxophone.
