Initially thought of as a solo project around Dustin Payseur, Beach Fossils was born in New York in 2009. After a tour and a first album signed with the independent label Captured Tracks, the group quickly made a name for itself, becoming one of of the most influential of the Indie rock scene of the 2010s. At the crossroads of pop music, shoegaze and the Lo-fi movement, Beach Fossils marks its big comeback in 2023 with the introspective “Bunny”.

Some groups have the gift of writing songs suspended in time. As if emotion naturally took precedence over generational imprints. Basing its compositions on melodic and dreamy chords, the Brooklyn quartet manages to synthesize the best that Indie rock has produced from the nineties to the present day. A timeless face that we owe first and foremost to Dustin Payseur, champion of an inhabited, nostalgic and refined New-wave.

The human or the machine, a duality evoking a well-known spleen of the 21st century, where feelings and sensations rub shoulders with the cold of computers and the heat of turbines. Electronica, art-rock, shoegaze, trip-hop: Etienne Machine likes not to have to choose and tends to define his stylistic mix release after release, weaving the links between the different influences of his members. The result is a unique mix of which some well-known ersatz can be felt: Massive Attack, Black Country New Road or Arcade Fire. Formed in 2018 and resulting from a meeting on the benches of the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, the group has expanded through numerous collaborations and alliances, as evidenced by the presence of different mixed voices through their discography.
