BLONDE REDHEAD
Formed in 1993 in the New York indie underground, Blonde Redhead quickly found a place on Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley's label, Smells Like, before releasing acclaimed albums on Touch & Go and 4AD, which chart an arc from edgy indie-rock to cosmopolitan art pop. The trio could have been the quintessence of the group of the 90s, except that they never stopped moving forward, growing, without ever confining themselves to any era other than the present. The immersive and meticulous latest album Sit Down for Dinner is a testament to the unique inner logic Blonde Redhead has honed over its three-decade run.
