Description:

DOWNSET
Founded in Los Angeles in the late 80s as part of the burgeoning hardcore scene, Downset has become something of an icon. An original mix of rap, funk, hardcore, punk, metal and socially conscious lyrics, they drew their influences from Black Flag to Black Sabbath, from Public Enemy to Bob Marley.
Without being recognized by the general public, Downset is considered a notable influence in the nu-metal and rap-metal subgenres. They have toured with Linkin Park, Slayer, Metallica and Anthrax, among other prominent names in metal.

CROWBAR
American doom / sludge rock band from Louisiana, characterized by extremely slow, low-key, hardcore and disturbing songs.
In 1989, the group was inspired by the group Crowbar from NOLA (New Orleans), and Kirk Windstein became the pioneer of slow and heavy music with a unique vocal style. Their first album, "Obedience Through Suffering", was released in 1991, but failed to achieve notoriety. The 1993 self-titled album (Crowbar) was produced by personal friend Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down and Superjoint Ritual among others), which earned them national promotion on MTV's Headbanger's Ball. Phil sang back up on a few tracks and in the background on 'Broken Glass' which complements the anthems 'All I Had (I Gave)', 'I Have Failed' and 'Existence is Punishment' as well as a new rendition of the song “No Quarter” by Led Zeppelin. On the strength of its success, the group chained clips, major tours with Pantera and other albums. Their onstage antics became infamous, resulting in them being immoralized in Pantera's "Home Video 3" and Crowbar's "Like Broken" Home Video.
Over time, the group lost its founding members, with the exception of singer and guitarist Kirk Windstein. After Todd Strange's departure, band members who weighed over 300 pounds lost weight and the heaviness was only in the music and not the band members. The band continued to perform, borrowing members from NOLA metal bands like Goatwhore and Acid Bath. On their recent 2005 album, “Life's Blood For The Downtrodden,” Pantera bassist Rex Brown lent his bass and keyboard to Down producer Warren Riker.

DEWBACK
The quintet offers its Melodic Hardcore recipe from the influences and musical experiences of these members. Groups like Comeback Kid or Terror are their sources of inspiration, although a punk-rock touch colors the songs.
Created in 2021 during the Covid, it took until the Fête de la Musique 2022 in Geneva to present the compositions for the first time. The public with its energy and warm welcome participated in a great premiere. The recording of an EP is planned for the last quarter of 2023
