December 22, 1808: the Viennese public heard Beethoven's 5th symphony for the first time. Since then, its opening motif (po-po-po-pooom!) has become the most famous in the history of symphonic music, and this symphony the expression of the powerful Beethovenian will that forces fate and rises from the shadows in the light.
