Description:

Influenced by the musical currents of the Old Continent, the USA have struggled to forge a sound identity of their own. It was not until the beginning of the 20th century that Gershwin, Ives or Copland realized this ambition, followed in the 1960s by Bernstein and the representatives of the new minimalist movement. Repetitions, Loops, loops, cells, phasing and dephasing underlie the artistic reflections and creative processes of Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Meredith Monk or John Adams. Sixty years later, this musical universe has never been so present: pop music, soundtracks, advertising spots... The new generations have appropriated the codes, revisiting them ad infinitum. Yes, Vanessa Wagner and Wilhem Latchoumia prove it: This is America!
