Description:

The 19th edition of the Mapping Festival takes place from May 18 to 28 at the Commun and the Jardin des Nations. As every year, it will bring together international and local artists active on the technological and transdisciplinary arts scene for exhibitions, round tables, workshops and performances. Young creators will be honored through collaborations with HEAD-Geneva and ECAL/Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne.

From May 18 to 28, Le Commun awaits you for ten days of exhibition, hosting around twenty installations on the theme of “Art, Tech and Info, punctuated by workshops, round tables, performances and cryptobars. In parallel, the Jardin des Nations offers four days with open-air events, immersive experiences and 360° projections in the Syllepse.

The opening, Thursday May 18 at 6 p.m. at Le Commun, sets the tone with a conference by Joanie Lemercier and Juliette Bibasse on the theme “Art, Tech and Activism” followed by a surprise performance during the discovery of our original and interactive installations.

On Friday May 19, after a workshop and a round table at Le Commun, the Mapping festival joins forces with Groove for a festive evening around audiovisual performances and post-clubbing.

From 25 to 28.5, the Jardin des Nations offers you a series of low-tech works in the open air, reflecting the concerns around energy resilience. In addition, the Syllepse, a cistern equipped with an exceptional system of 22 video projectors will be used for 360° projections in very high definition. To this end, the Mapping festival has chosen to investigate, in a real space, the relationship between the tangible world and the virtual world.

We are waiting for you with surprises throughout the festival!
