Nina Nastasia began writing songs in 1993 and released her debut album, Dogs, in 2000. She has stated in interviews that she knew little about music history and did not initially plan to become a musician. She has stated that she is a fan of movies, especially horror movies.

Nastasia's music has been noted by journalists and critics for blending elements of folk and Americana, with gothic overtones. His music has been compared to that of Tom Waits, Devendra Banhart, Neko Case and Cat Power. His songs prominently feature the acoustic guitar, often accompanied by various string arrangements including cello, violin, and viola.

Nastasia disappeared from the public eye for several years. His seventh studio album, Riderless Horse, recorded by Steve Albini and Greg Norman in an upstate New York cabin, was released on July 22, 2022.

Melissa Kassab has traveled the roads, alone or accompanied, and concocted a precise but always fresh and unexpected imagination. Folk of the asphalt and the great outdoors, his universe has become clearer over the course of dates and trips to Europe and the US. His latest album – Rodeo – is a complex and personal work that brings together friends and (ex)loves, lo-fi and studio recordings, compositions and covers. After DOG on vinyl in 2017, Rodeo is released on K7, a medium she rediscovered in her mayen*, without electricity, where only a battery-powered cassette player accompanied her loneliness.
