The Longest Johns
Bristol band, The Longest Johns, have been into folk shanties for a number of years. It's not the most obvious path to stardom, but something about the stories, the gripping harmonies and the exuberant showmanship has made them one of those go-to bands wherever you find them. Within a few years, they went from singing sea shanties in a kitchen to signing a deal with Decca Records, major festivals, touring, TV appearances and massive online success. As the face of the 2021 sea shanties revival, with their track “Wellerman,” the Johns reach millions of new fans around the world and show them just how essential these songs can be.

El Pony Pisador
El Pony Pisador is one of the groups that was on everyone's lips last year (2022). Songs like “La Noble vila de Su”, “La cofradía del menhir” or “El meu pare esun formatge” are an example of this. If we mix the universe of JRR Tolquien with that of Monty Python, the result could look like El Pony Pisador. Celtic and traditional folk music with a dose of absurd humor.

In 2022, they consolidate their success not only in Catalonia but also abroad by performing at the Fête des Chants Marins (Quebec), at Eurofolk (Germany), at the North Sea Folk & Shanties Festival (Belgium) and at a mini-tour of 3 dates in the Netherlands. A total of 65 performances that include dozens of festivals such as Acampada Jove, El Tingladu, Bioritme, Acústica, Getxo Folk or Palma Folk, culminating on December 2 with a sold-out show in Barcelona at Sala Apolo with all the tickets sold out one month before the performance. It is also in 2022 that they present their last single with Senyor Oca (a reference in Catalan rap) entitled “Carry On”.
